In a major tourism promotion initiative, the Andhra Pradesh government
would be launching a sea cruise service in the picturesque waters from Visakhapatnam to the Andaman islands.
Soon children will be doing their bit to conserve the four Unesco world
heritage sites -- Nandadevi, Kaeolodeo Ghana bird Sanctuary in Bharatpur,
Assam's Kaziranga national park and Manas wildlife sanctuary in India.
To increase tourism in Punjab, a first
of its kind heritage hotel in the state "The Baradari Palace" was
today inaugurated by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
Uttarakhand plans to foray into health tourism in a big way, creating
hubs and taking advantage of abundant medicinal and aromatic plants, Chief
Minister B C Khanduri said.
Tourism industry in the country has asked the government to formulate a regulatory policy framework to promote responsible tourism, stressing that more coordinated efforts are needed to develop the sector.
