A group of pro-democracy parliamentarians from various Asian countries have emphasized for a  free and fair Burma elections duly monitored by a team of impartial international observers and not ‘under the fraudulent Constitution of 2008'.

President Pratibha Devi Singh Patil on Wednesday (November 25), became the first woman president to fly the Sukhoi-30MKI of the Indian Air Force in Pune. President Patil flew with Wing Commander S Sajan from Lohegaon Air Base on the outskirts of Pune in Maharashtra.

Justice Liberhan report and the Action Taken Report (ATR) report was tabled in the Parliament on Tuesday by UPA government. This decision was taken after opposition insisted on immediate tabling of the report after it was accessed by certain sections of the media.

A leak of the inquiry report of Justice Manmohan Singh Liberhan Commission that indicted former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee along with current Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani and former BJP president Murli Manohar Joshi, among others, for the demolition of the Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992, raised a furor in the Parliament on Monday.

A grateful nation paid homage to late Prime Minister India Gandhi on her 92nd birth anniversary. Tributes were paid at Shakti Sthal, her memorial at Yamuna river in Delhi and a remembrance ceremony was also organised in her honour.
