ADB to invest 90 mn USD in HP tourism: Dhumal Bookmark and Share

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) today proposed to invest over 90 million US Dollars in tourism-related infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh. Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal after a meeting with the a five-member ADB team visiting parts of the state, said tourism has been the basic sector contributing significantly towards the gross domestic product of the state.

During the preceding calender year, over 92 lakh tourists, both domestic and foreign, had visited the state, a release said here.

The ADB has prepared a roadmap for tourism infrastructure development in the country, including in the state. The world body has agreed, in principle, to invest 90 million US Dollars in building tourism infrastructure and restoration and conservation of heritage properties. PTI
