Uttrakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has instructed Chief Secretary Indu Kumar Pandey to send request to the Central Government and Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission for a package of Rs 400 crore for holding haggle-less upcoming Maha Kumbh Mela, scheduled to be in early year. Pokhriyal instructed them to complete all pending projects in a given time frame. While presiding over the meeting held in Secretariat campus in Dehradoon today, Pokhriyal said that measures should be added for the better coordination among all Government departments. He said that health centres would be upgraded further for providing round the clock medical assistance to patients. PWD (Public Work Department) was instructed to complete construction of roads in a given time frame. He also instructed them to show extra pace for completing all pending projects. It is noteworthy that Kumbh Mela is likely to begin in early next year in Haridwar district. Measures would be taken for further improvement in traffic, health, drinking water supply, road etc.
The Chief Minister hinted that strict department action would be taken against those staff found guilty of lethargic and iresponsible behavior. He made it cleared that funds are not going to be the constraint for providing basic and best amenities to pilgrims. He further instructed them for providing timely and accurate details about the progress of different projects undertaken by the Government. Cabinet Minister Madan Kaushik assured that hassle-free drinking water supply would be provided to residents.
Informing about the preparations carried by various departments, Chief Secretary Indu Kumar Pandey said that Rs 118 crore was sanctioned by the State Government and out of that Rs 82 crore was already spent for the development projects. Anand Wardhan, Prakash Suman Dhyani, Alok Jain, Kesavdesi Raju, MH Khan, Umakant Panwar, Radha Raturi, DGP Subhash Joshi were also present in the meeting. Merinews |
