Men in Blue levelled the seven-match ODI series in style defeating the world number one Australian team by 99 runs in a convincing manner in the second one-day match.

Put in to bat first after losing the toss once again Indians played with resilience and controlled the game throughout the match. Master batsman Sachin Tendulkar failed once again to play a solid knock for the team but minus Sachin and Harbhajan rest of the team did a wonderful job.

For the Indians, Virender Sehwag played a cameo making 40 off just 30 balls, Gautam Gambhir was elegant in his batting scored another useful half century, he scored 76 runs off 80 balls and saved wicket from one end so that other batsman can have liberty in scoring runs without worrying about wickets.

The Nagpur match will be remembered for Indian captain Mahender Singh Dhoni, who scored a brilliant century, scoring runs in all parts of the ground. In his 107 balls 124 runs inning, Dhoni hit 9 boundaries and 3 sixes and entertained the crowd to the hilt.

It was Dhoni's fifth century but an important one that laid the foundation for a colossal score of 354. He was also well supported by Suresh Raina, who scored 62 from 50 balls. The score of 354 for 7 was India's highest against the Australia. Prior to it, India had scored  315 at Bangalore some eight years back in the year 2001 on March 25.

Chasing a mammoth total of 354, Australians lost wickets at regular interval, right from the beginning they were under pressure of scoring seven runs per over. For the visitors, Michael Hussey score 53 runs, it was his second half century on a trot but barring him none of the Australians posed any threat and the team was bundled out for 255, giving India a convincing win of 99 runs.

For the Men in Blue, rookie Ravinder Jadeja was the most successful bowler, he snapped three wickets, while lanky Ishant Sharma and Praveen Kumar picked two wickets apiece. Wicketkeeper batsman and skipper MSD was given man of the match award for his scintillating inning of 124.

With 7 match series levelled at 1-1, sports lovers can expect big matches in the days to come to decide the winner of the series and also who is the top rank side in the world in ODI. In case if men in blue wins the series by 4-3, they will dethrone the Australians.
