They should do so by strengthening political forces committed to safeguarding Indian ethos of brotherhood, secular characteristics and democratic values. "You can only achieve the goal of a developed Jharkhand by extending fullest support to those who stand for equitable development irrespective of any consideration of creed, caste, colour or region", he asserted. Addressing public gatherings at Japla, Hussainabad, Panki and Daltonganj in Jharkhand, sharing the stage with top brass Congress leadership on Wednesday, Omar said that people have to coolly think about the prosperous future for their children and elect those whose total concern will be public service.

"To hand over the future in the hands of those who divide the society in the name of region and religion for vested interests and self ends will be in no case a wise decision", he said and warned the people of the consequences of the attempts aimed at wedging the society for political gains. He said India is a great country where all shades of people with different faiths and cultural background live in an atmosphere of love and peace. "We have to nurture this India and contribute for its strength and growth", he added.

Saying that Jharkhand's bright future is in the success of those who represent secular-democratic traits and work for the development of all sections of the society, Omar Abdullah asked the people to exercise their vote in favour of Congress candidates. "This alone ensures your equitable development and equal opportunity to grow and prosperous", he maintained.
