World's largest mobile phone maker Nokia is going to launch dual-SIM mobile handsets for the Indian consumers, possibly towards the middle of 2010, which will target the mid-tier segment. Nokia wants to provide Indian customers an all in one solution with dual-SIM mobile handsets.
Nokia India Activation, Media & Online Marketing head, Viral Oza said "We are actively looking at the dual-SIM mobile handsets segment." However Viral Oza refused to make any comment on the timing of the launch of the phone. Oza was talking with reporters at the launch of its two touch phones Nokia 5230 and Nokia 5330. Nokia has not launched the dual-SIM mobile handsets yet. India is a market of over a 100 million handsets and dual-SIM mobile handsets of other brands are receiving good response by the customers. Many mobile users in India maintain two to three connections. Samsung, Motorola and LG would be the biggest competitors of Nokia in the dual-SIM mobile handsets market. Nokia has the biggest market share among the mobile users in India. |
