One of North India's biggest art and craft fair, The Surajkund Fair has opened today at Surajkund which is around 20 km from Delhi.
The fifteen days long Craft Mela is organised by the Haryana Tourism Corporation Limited every year. Surajkund Art & Craft fair is one of the biggest platforms for talented artists, weavers, painters, sculptors and craftsmen from different regions of India to display their skills.
The 24th edition of Surajkund Crafts Mela is offering a lot of fun, entertainment and exclusive shopping. The fair, which brings the fragrance of villages, will be displaying and demonstrating the finest crafts work of the 400 artists from all over India, SAARC and other neighboring countries including many national award winners. Folk dances and other cultural programmes will be organised every day during the 15 days long Surajkund Fair. Visitors are advised to taste the delicious foods of many Indian states at the fair. They should also visit the 10th century ancient Surajkund lake. This year in Surajkund fair, Rajasthan is the "Theme State". Rajasthan is famous for its forts, places, textiles, handicrafts, cuisines and traditional festivals. Tajikistan is the partner country in this edition of the art and crafts fair. |
