The performers for this year's Super Bowl game, gave a glimpse of what's in store for the pre-game and half time shows at a press conference held at the Super Bowl XLIV media centre on Thursday.

Carrie Underwood, Queen Latifah and the Who members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend perfomed at the press conference, providing a preview of the entertainment due in the Super Bowl XLIV game to be held on Sunday in Miami.

The Who members also gave a preview of their vocal talents, after which band member Pete Townshend stepped forward to defend himself against critics, who for some time have been saying that he should not perform at the Super Bowl.

The Who guitarist has been embroiled in controversy since he was arrested in 2003, as part of a child pornography sting. He had accessed a website which featured child porn, but had said that he had done so to research for his own campaign against child pornography. He had been cleared of all charges.

The Super Bowl XLIV game between New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts will begin after Carrie Underwood would sing the national anthem. Queen Latifah is expected to sing America is beautiful. Then, The Who will provide half time entertainment.
